First, tell me a little bit about your company and what motivated you to start it.

Well let me start by saying that I really like clothes! I had all these cute ideas for shirts that I didn't see in stores so that's when I wanted to do this. Plus, I am not skinny like all the ads in the magazines, I consider myself "real" ya know average, not 5'10 weighing 110lbs. I think I'm like a lot of the girls out there, but ya know what, I am fine with my thickness. If I want to be cute, sexy or cool (most of the time it's cute because sexy doesn't come all that often) I will be- but the bottom line is that I'm comfortable. And I hope other girls are comfortable with themselves too, whether a size 2 or 16 as long as you are happy that's all that matters! We're all cool! That's where I came out with the "thick girls need love too" shirt, and then other ideas sprung from that....

The company is "thick & Company", what I basically wanted to accomplish is to give myself a creative outlet. I had all these ideas for shirts, but I did not want to exclude myself to just making shirts, I am blessed to be surrounded by a whole bunch of talented, creative souls so maybe not right now, but in the future "thick & Company" can encompass music, journalism, art and fashion all of which I love! So basically the "thick" is me and "Company" is everyone that I hopefully get to collaborate with. Which brings me to the website www.SoulChronicle.com, I originally wanted a site to promote my shirts but once again didn't want to get pigeonholed to being only about shirts so on my site I am trying to make it more exciting-there is a poetry page, a page dedicated to spotlighting strong women in different cities, a page spotlighting a guy and well...It's kinda hard to explain, I suggest the NLY10 readers check out www.SoulChronicle.com for themselves...and while they are there they can send me some feedback! I need all the input I can get!

Why do you feel that now is good time to represent your brand?

Now is a good time more than anything because no one else has anything that represents me, so why not?

Describe the style:

Definitely "Rock N' Soul"

Who do you see as your target market? Are they under-represented in today's fashion climate?

I don't like to have a specific target that pinpoints a specific demographic-I have 16, 25 year olds, even older mothers with kids (you know who you are!) wearing my shirts! My target market is the girl who would rather rock the torn jeans and be comfortable chillin' rather than that girl in the too tight pants trying to impress someone.

Are we under represented? In the fashion industry-I believe so.

In media? Yes.

Tell me what I can find at your website and why I should add it to my favorites?

Of course you find out info on my shirts, but more than anything I feel this site is as much of a medium of expression for myself as well as to anyone who submits their work to me. It's a chance to get into the minds of other people because I spotlight random people and ask not so typical questions.... there are also links/info on websites and folks I support like SummerVisions.com, DJ 2rille and NLY10 of course! Why should anyone add the site to their favorites? I'll pretty much put up whatever is submitted to me as long as it is not demeaning or hurtful to other individuals. How cool is it to have your work up for the world to see? Did I mention that I’ll also have free promo stuff to giveaway??!!!

Where can the NLY10 readers find your stuff?

Hit me up at www.SoulChronicle.com

Anything else you'd like our NLY10 readers to know about your clothes or your company?

thick & Company and SoulChronicle.com is all about SOUL, it’s definitely worth checking out.
