Where are you from and how long have you been in San Diego?
I was born in Fremont, Ca. I've been living here for nine months. I'm residing in Normal Heights. What's up to my people at the Ken Club.

How did you become an on air personality on radio?
I was doing the snowboard report for a morning show in Reno. They offered me a job doing the overnight shift (Midnight till 6 am). It was better than working at the car wash. Even though working at "The Wash" was just like being in the movies and fun.

How did you wind up being in San Diego on 91X?
I'd heard P.D. Bryan Schock was looking for someone to fill the shoes of Muckley, who had been at the station for 7 years, so I put together an air check, made some calls, kidnapped some important peoples kids (just kidding), and got lucky. Over 150 people applied for the music director position. I've been blessed with a great opportunity to be a part SD culture. I used to come down to San Diego just to listen to Resurrection Sundays on 91X, hosted by Steve West. I've always admired 91X's music and community involvement in America's finest city.

You're also a music director for 91X. What does that entail?
I get stacks of music, as much as one hundred per day, from artists locally and nationally. I listen to 'em and at night I break 'em out on the air. However, I'm one set of ears that contributes to the music that's played on 91X.

What's your time slot on the air?
I'm on 91X from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Friday and at X-Fest, Frosty the Showman, and an occasional Saturday.

What's the funniest thing to ever happen to you on the air?
One night, there was this person that was on the air before me. She was new and so scared about running the board for the first time, that she pooped herself! She had, in her words, "a case of the cocoa undies!" The stink was something to deal with for the next four hours. That wasn't at 91X, by the way (laughs).

What's the coolest thing to ever happen to you on the air?
Tommy Chong!!! We did an interview. He told me stories about his heavy partying with Cheech and Jack Nicholson. They were inebriated, driving a Cadillac around Los Angeles. They accidentally drove up an off-ramp and into oncoming traffic on the Santa Monica freeway! It was far out. He really "lifted" my spirits that day. Oooh! Once Mary Ann, (Dawn Wells) from "Gilligan's Island" made me herb special Mexican omelets with a hot plate on the air. Also, a lifting experience.

What's the stupidest thing to ever happen to you on the air?
I had these tight fitting headphones. I quickly tried to take them off, but they popped off and hit me in the eye.I had a black eye for two weeks. Brand X's Cantore still reminds me about that one (laughs). What a dumb-ass!

Ever been stalked by a listener?
Oh yeah. I was DJ'ing a Halloween party. This freak, who I thought was the girl I had been dating at the time, was in this costume and came over to me. She reached into my costume and grabbed me. I realized it wasn't her and was this girl who had been stalking me. I was like, "Security!" Actually, I liked it.

Who's your favorite celebrity you've met?
I don't like to meet celebrities that I really like. It's always kind of a let down. You have these thoughts of grandeur, but sometimes it bursts my bubble. I hope to never meet Bono. But, I would say Henry Rollins of Black Flag, Davy Havoc of AFI, and Ben Harper are all good souls I've come across.

Best and worst song?
The worst? I'd say, "Teenage Dirt Bag" by Wheatus. The best would be "Franco Un-American" by NOFX.

Best thing about your job?
All the really cool people I work with. Brand X, Robin, Hillary, Trev, JR and the whole staff. They all have one cause, good radio for S.D. THEY make it really fun.

Any last words?
Maximum respect to all people who support San Diego music.
