November 21,2003 Alicia Keys Private Listening "Diary" in Los
Angeles.
On Wednesday at the Highlands in Hollywood, I took a trip to Los Angeles
to see my girl Alicia Keys perform. Alicia took to her piano to Los Angeles
to promote her upcoming Album, “The Diary of Alicia Keys”.
Keys did a sneak preview of the album that will be released on December
2nd, Celebrities that was in attendee before an audience that included
Stevie Wonder, Missy Elliott, Clay Aiken, Ruben Studdard, 3LW, Tisha Campbell,
Bill Belamey, Jon B, Star, Toni Tony, Anthony Anderson, Iron Mike, Bam
Bam, Slyed, Marlino, Rage, Mr. Choc, Nautica DelaCruz, DJ JiJi Sweet and
Jermaine Dupri.
Alicia got on stage and said” Let’s take it back,” The
stage was lit up by white candles on black crafted iron stands, Keys performed
hits from her debut album such as the runaway hit "Fallin,'"
"Rock Wit U," and "A Woman's Worth," into her set.
Keys performed a cut from her new album "If I Ain't Got You,"
Keys played with the crowd, saying "This song means a lot to me,
but I'm not gonna talk about it." Keys led with her piano and vocals
and used the bass, guitar, drums, keyboard and the three back-up singers
in her band, also small bits of distorted guitar in the back ground from
her song "Streets of New York."
Keys then performed her new single. "You Don't Know My Name,"
she stood up from her piano to introduce R&B singers the Moments and
joining them at the front of the stage to lead the crowd in a "soul
clap." "I want to take this back to the time when harmonies
were sweet," she said. Her performance was amazing as she was also
amazing and beautiful. Check out the WWW.NLY10.COM for clips of the performance.
Special thanks to Alicia Keys, Clive Davis, J Records and Byze One.
